Default Basic Suspension Questions

I have a few suspension questions which I need some advice on...firstly I have a Track Z which is unlikely to ever set it's tires on a race track - for me it's a street car. I am about to purchase some Volk 9.5f +30/10.5r +24
GTAV's however want to lower the car to avoid excess "fender gap" and make it look a bit more aggressive without going overboard.

My questions are:

1. Are coilovers overkill on a car which is driven daily?

2. If so, does anyone have any experience with Tein High Tech springs?

3. If not, does anyone have any feedback on Tein Flex coilovers?

4. What is a typical "drop" for a Z without causing too many rubbing issues?

Any help would be appreciated.

TEIN S-Techs will drop you about 1.25". I have TEIN Basic coilovers set for 1" drop.

S-Techs:

Thanks Gsoccer24, I appreciate the feedback and photos in particular. Are you happy with your Tein coilovers?

very happy. with the Basics set at an inch drop, the car looks and handles very nicely, a great improvement over stock. also, the damping is much better compared to stock even though it is not adjustable; the TEIN Basics are only ride height adjustable, perfect for a daily driver if you do want coilovers but don't want to mess around too much trying to mess with dampening, etc.

I thought Tein S-techs offered a 0.7 inch drop in front and 0.6 inch drop in rear? Was the 1 inch drop after the springs settled or is it an approximation?

yeah, and I am approximating the 1.25 drop with S-Techs based on how the black Z sits with them vs. my Basics set at 1 inch drop, you can especially notice at the front wheel to fender gap.

I'm in the same situation...I'm actually probably gonna get the same rims as well GT-AV (Gunmetal) Anyways...I'm going for the TOkico shocks, some after market springs (maybe tokico if good deal) and sways. Cheaper then the higher end coilovers. I drive on the street and some canyon runs....! Anyways...we are getting together a group buy, check it out if your looking for suspension!!!

On another note, never ever ever ever ever ever ever... ever ever ever.. ever. cut or heat your springs.

sure it may look good but you're just F-ing up your ride.
