Question Help!!! Track brembos on touring model.

HELP!!! I have a chance to get some track brembos(front and rear) with rotors for a reasonable price. Has anyone on this forum installed track brembos on a touring z? Is this a direct replacement or do I need additional hardwares? I need to know before making purchase.

Thanks.

i installed them on my performance model. Make sure you get the rear bolts as they are different than your touring model's. Also, you will have to trim the lip off the rear dust shield to accomodate the bigger rotors. Other than that they are bolt on.

You will also need the brake lines if your not gonna upgrade to SS lines. Pretty straight foward swap though.

+1 Same here.

Get SS lines.

Getting all the air out of the system was a PITA.

lets not even go into the install. Mine was such a PITA - I snapped a banjo bolt while installing the stainless lines in the rear. Had to rig up the stock caliper using one of the brembo oem lines then bring the brembo to a machine shop to have the bolt extracted. The whole debaucle took almost 2 weeks (thankfully I take mass transit everyday and the Z is just a weekend driver). Finally got everything installed and working at 3am the night before an autocross event. But once I got the car out on the street I couldn't have been happier. Pedal feel is greatly improved and the brakes aren't as grabby as the OEM performance model's. I can't wait to take the car out on the track next month to see if the upgrade was really worth it.

I'm getting them off a good friend for $800 for all four brand new off a 35th anniversary Z. He might even throw in the 35th anniver. wheels for free.

Another noob question...does rotor come off by itself once you unbolt the screws to calipers? So what you would do is remove the 3(I believe) bolts holding the calipers to the brackets and just wiggle the rotor off, right???

What did you use to trim off the rear dust shield?

Hit it very hard with a big hammer on the hub part of the rotor. This loosened it enough to pull it right off.

Big snips or a cut off wheel (air tool).
