Default Urethane/Delrin Bushing Set

Anyone make a urethane or delrin complete bushing set for the 350Z? I called Energy suspension and they don't make anything (someone really dropepd the ball on that over @ Energy ) for the Z.

Any info would be appreciated.

Evo350 currently offers a sperical bearing setup to do what you want, for a price. Do to how much flex the oem rubber bushings allow for the sake of isolation, they are a very good idea. But like any good ideal, I've never seen that fact overcome the cost in anyone's eye's, OUCH!

Yeah.... the 350Evo are solid bushings. Race only... they would be too brutal for roard use.

I've spoken to Energy about doing a kit for the Z and their response was that the Z bushings, as stock were very difficult to improve upon...hence they would not be offering a kit

I would really like to see some rear subframe "spacers". The ones the Z32 and S13/14/15 guys have been using to eliminate wheel hop. Has anyone seen these for the 350Z/G35?

Nismo already makes a suspension bushing kit but I believe it is just made of a harder rubber, not urethane. But I'd rather have the Nismo since there is no maintenance required to regrease the bushings.

The NISMO one is the way to go...

Very hard rubber insulator bushings... Its the same kind of thing we have been using on 240's / 300zx / skylines for a while now.. Just a kit for the Z33...

Will also work on G35...

Its not so much the subframe that attributes to the wheel hop... its more the fact we only have one rear mounting stud for the final drive assembly while Z32 has 2...

depends on where you go...
depends on if you bring them all the parts off the car or on the car...

put your car on jack stands for a while, all these parts are pretty easy to remove, drop them off at the shop... its not much to press in and out bushings... the expensive part is more removing from the car the control arms etc..

yes i have been looking at redoing alot of the bushins to heim jointed links and make a few adjustable. trick is the 350Z/g35 bushings are set up abit different than most. it would take alot of machine work to do. none the less i plan to do to my car and will see if any of it will be cost effective to reproduce and sell. i have run poly or made heim jointed links on nearly every car i own. makes the car feel great in my opinion. steering input is exact and makes the whole car more solid and predictable.

I can offer pressed bushings into some of these parts with a core exchange...

But, the things like Front Upper A-Arms and Lower Control Arms will be hard since the ball joints tend to fail over time...

I guess I can offer them with new ones...

Ill see what I can cook up...

Jason,

If I were to remove the parts myself to save on labor, are these the parts I need to remove? Names in parens are from the FSM. Am I missing anything?

Front

Upper Control Arm (Upper Link)
Lower Transverse Link

Rear
Upper Control Arm (Suspension Arm)
Lower Control Arm (Front Lower Link)
Radius Rod
Rear Lower Link
Axle Assembly (for hub side bushings)

MY BAD strike that first comment! Each camber and toe arm only has one bushing on each side, the others are on the hub assembly...

Front Suspension:

#9 Upper A Arm (4 bushings)
#10 Front Transverse Link (2 bushings) Ball joint boot could be worn...

Rear Suspension:

#11 Rear Upper A Arm Bushings (4) ball joint again to check..
#10 Toe Link / Radious Rod Bushings (2)
#9 Camber / Lower Link (2)
#12 Lower Spring Seat / Lower Control Arm (2)
#6 Camber & Toe link mounting points at rear hubs (4 total)
#X Rear Upper Shock Absorber Bushing (Bump Stop) (2)
I think its built into number 2 in the image... need to check my computer at work to see if it is available seperately as a factory part...

Most of you I know have already replaced the camber and toe arms with aftermarket arms from Stillen / JIC / etc etc... so no need to replace those! Would only have to replace the bushings on the hub its self...

The hardest ones to replace are going to be in the rear spindle / hub mounting point...

I have the Stillen rear camber/toe arms: so those 4 bushings for the rear toe/camber link lower hub, the 4 bushings for the rear upper A arm, and the 2 bushings for the lower control arm... and that would pretty much complete the rear?

And with the 350evo front camber arms... I would really only need the 2 front tranverse link bushings?

Of course I guess everything is x2 also for each side? or is that already included?

price shipped 35124

My figures above are for both sides...

if you have the 350evo front A arms you do not need to do those bushings, only the 2 transverse link bushings...

Thanks Jason, awesome info. How hard would it be to take apart the rear hub mounting point #6 in the rear? I'm assuming all the other arms are pretty straight forward.
