Default painting brake calipers

The following was brought up in another thread posted in here a while ago.....

I really like the blue and I believe it looks really good. However, the whole point of painting your calipers is to provide attention to them. In order to do that, you need contrasting colors. You need them to stand out. It's not like matching socks with your pants. If you go blue, it will be blended too much and a random person may not notice them. When colors contrast, your eyes are drawn to the contrasted colors. I've had girls (not into cars) mention the red on the calipers. I originally was going to go gold or yellow, but the 350Z Brembo's are golden in color. So red was the next best choice.

Again, blue is a fantastic choice too. Good luck.

Oh, and by the way. 2003z does some incredibly powdercoating. I've seen his work in person. A+++

I was reading another brake painting thread in some other forum once and this subject came up and the person brought up a very good point.

Why would you want to paint your stock calipers a color to make them stand out?

Is it suppose to be like, "Hey man check out my stock calipers? LOL

Why would you want to draw attention to the fact that you are using plain old stock calipers?

Seems kinda lame. Should just paint them silver or black, so as to hide the future rust???

If they were aftermarket brakes I could see wanting to show them off which is why most come in gold, red, silver, blue, etc.., but stock??

I mean really.

Maybe it's just a chick thing HA!

If the calipers came in colors people would paint them black it seems.

My wife knows a painted stock caliper from a StopTech when she sees it. That's why I married her.

Respect (but not for stock painted calipers)

RE: "I was reading another brake painting thread..."

Did you also look through the other threads (same topic) which discussed this already (chock full of trolls and comments by people who wish anyone listened to them, but unfortunely no one will).

Is it also a "chick thing" to post a useless thread regarding a topic which has been covered before? What's really lame are... trolls. I mean really.

I painted my stock calipers red.

I didn't do it to show off the stock calipers or pretend to be big brakes.

I don't race on the tracks, so I don't see any justification to spend 2500-5500 on big brakes likes stoptech or brembos so you can go through the corners faster.

I painted them red because when I was driving on the highway, I saw this car go by and his red calipers really stood out when his wheels were spinning fast. It was a dark blue four door honda accord and man did those red calipers make you take a second look at it.

I'd rather spend 2500-5500 on an exhust system or a force induction kit.
