Default JIC owners: Need your experienced advice!

I searched the forum first and everything I found dealt with coilover installs, not the adjustments once they're on the car. Has anybody taken measurements from the ground to the fender lip, or are most people looking at the fender/tire gap aesthetics? Is there a recommended number of "clicks" that is the best starting point? I assume these are going to "settle" and my ride height may change somewhat? I'm just looking for JIC owners that have been there and done that.

Thanks,

Bruce
