Sorry to bring up an old thread...

Any updates or definitive answers on this topic?

I am having the same issue. Mine occurs usually when turning left. I can make it go away by pressing the brake pedal. Sounds like the right-rear. Is it the pads? The e-brake? Any more folks come back with fixes from the dealer?

Thx

I took my car in for this recall:::

and after I got my car back the noise was gone. I do not think the recall and noise were because of one another...but the squeeling is history.

SmokyTyrz - From what I've gathered it's the e-brake. Someone posted the how-to on adjusting it and you have to take off the right-rear wheel to fix it. I believe the noise is the brake being set too tight so it doesn't "release" as much as it should.

I have the same issue. Using the brake pedal makes it go away when it happens. I heard that the dealer charged someone around $100 to fix it. I'd hate to pay that but I might have to. It seems to happen more when it's cold out.

I agree. The research and posts suggest that the ebrake is the most likely culprit. I'll have my dealer take a look on the next service (soon). Certainly this would be a warranty repair, right?

The service manual says the ebrake needs to be 6-7 clicks total once you reach full resistance. Mine is more like 9-10. So it is definitely plausible.

Sux that you have to remove the tire and disconnect the cable to make this adjustment. I guess there is more going on between that lever and the drum, because it seems to me like all you're doing is picking up slack? Anyways, I'll let the pros handle it.

Thx for replying!
