Default Tein H/S Tech Springs with stock shocks?

Since these two springs don't lower the car all that much, would these springs mess up the stock shocks? I'm a complete noob to this springs stuff. I've tried some searches, but nothing's coming up for me.

No. But, just because they don't lower a lot, doesn't mean your oem shocks will be thrilled to run with them. Do you know if your 04 has the revised suspension or not?

I have the 05 suspension and was wondering the same thing. I just want to drop height of the car for about 3/4". I need to plan this out cause I am thinking about purchasing some 19's.

In the neighborhood of a 3/4" drop, these are the choice that come to my mind. RSR and Hotchkis have good review's here, Swift isn't carried by many vendor's and they are on the expensive side. If you don't control wheel weight to at or below oem weight's, you may be best served by Hotchkis vs RSR.

Hotchkis 350Z Linear springs .6”/.8” drop
Spring rates in lbs 340/330

Swift 350Z linear springs .8”/.6” drop
Spring rates in LBS 336/364

RSR 350Z linear springs .6”/.6” drop
Spring rates in LBS 345/417

Thanks for the info Gsedan35. I looked through the stickies and the FAQs don't seem to explain how springs and shocks/dampers should be matched, or why getting springs with different spring rates damages the shocks/dampers.

I have a vague idea of what happens, but why the shocks get damaged i'm still not sure. It's got something to do with th shocks/dampers don't get their full range of motion anymore or something.

Can someone explain this to me? Thanks!

hmm, can't seem to find the edit button...ah well.

I checked, and i'm pretty sure i have the revised suspension setup. So...what does that mean?

I searched around and the spring is stiffer (by alot), but being a total suspension noob i have no clue what that means if i want to lower my car.

Another note, now I finally know why i never experienced "the bounce" that i hear all around these forums! I thought i didn't know what that meant!

I just read up a little more on the RS-R springs(they keep the good spring rates) and I think that will be going that route as well as some tokico d-spec shocks. I also just visited STILLEN here in the O.C. and they sell the sway bars front and rear. It provides 70% more stiffness compared to the stock setup.

So RSR Ti2000 Springs $300, Stillen Sways $289, Tokico D-Spec $489. Sounds like the setup I was looking for in order to prevent the Z rear bounce.

Should be fine as the H.Tech springrates are not that agressive.
