The AP racing BBK's are meant for race and race only, meaning that they should be rebuilt.

WOW, Strange, Thats not at all our experience with the AP's. We have installed the AP Racing BBK's (6 piston front and 4 piston rear) on severall cars (as John has mentioned above) and never a single problem with ANY of them. These cars with these brakes installed are street driven allmost daily, some for a couple years with no rebuilding done at all. We also track these cars (HARD) quite often. Not a single problem yet. No leaking, heating, etc.

After alot of research I went with StopTech 14" F&R kit here, absolutely love them.

Heard bad things about Grex and they actually cost $1000 more than what everyone lists them for on their website.

Are these BBK kits overkill for street driving? Or are they manageable?

I've been happy with the performance of my Stoptech BBK, having done over 30 HPDE's. MANY pad choices! Look into what pads are available for the kit you chose. AP makes a killer kit, but their pad choices are a joke.....

Greddy GREX USA brakes = Rotora
Greddy GREX JDM = Alcon

Greddy Japan offers 2 kits. One is made by Rotora, and the other ALCON. Only the GREX = Rotora is offered here. GREX Alcon is special order only and will cost you an arm, a leg and your first born.
