It depends on how much you want to lower.

From what I read around the forum, 1 inch or less is not too bad but but if you lower more than an 1 inch, in time you are more likely to blow your struts.

More you lower, more chance of blowing your struts and having camber issue which will cause your tire to wear faster.

Cheapest option...

TANABE GF210 or TEIN S-Tech Springs...

GF210 will give you a little lower drop then the S-Tech, and they are both about the same ride quality, the Tanabe is alittle smoother...

http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...02_153_261_399

There is no need to upgrade the shocks with only the springs... Ive seen over 50k on the stock shocks with aftermarket springs...

Next best options will be TANABE S-0C and TEIN Basic. Both are ride height adjustable coil overs with NO damping adjustment. Other spring rates are available as well to tune the car. The Tanabe S-0C will alow you to put no pre-load on the springs and not have the springs move out of place with the helper springs. S-0C2 are more cost effective like the TEIN Basic but do not have helper springs so there is a limit to how low the suspension can be set before the springs can rotate freely and create noise...

NISMO S-Tune suspension... Shock and Spring kit. 20mm drop all around... smooth ride yet more responsive then stock... but, for what you pay for its $ compared to the others...

How about Tein H-Tech springs? How do they affect the ride, handling. How much stiffer are they? I dont want to lower much, less than an inch.

Since not all Z's are blessed with the best oem shocks off the factory floor, you may very will benefit from replacing your shocks even in the absence of installing aftermarket springs. What year is your Z? If it's a 2004, whats the date printed on the door jam builder's plate?

Keep in mind that if you drop a inch, you really should invest in some sort of aftermarket alignment correction parts. If you don't your going to be investing in new tires more often.

I'm probably going for Tanabe GF210...

Do you know is camber kit a "must" for this spring??

Camber kit is NOT required for ANY suspension!

A camber kit will alllow you to adjust the camber angle of your suspension... If you want 0 Degree camber that will get rid of "inner tire wear" that the Z has even with STOCK Camber Angle which is already aggressive...

Lowering the Z will increase the camber so it wears on the inside just a little bit more...

I do not see getting a camber kit if you have "saving tires" in mind... you will spend over $1000 on camber kits and only save your tires a couple of thousand miles if you go back to stock camber angle or less negitive...

you hurt your cars cornering performance when you decrease the camber angle... the Z handles soo well in the corners because of its negitive camber...

If you want to DRAG RACE your car and not take corners at full speed, then a rear camber kit will do you good and get 0 camber on the rear to get full traction on launch...

If you want to save your tires... do this....

If you want a more sporty ride with not much bounce / harsh ride.. TEIN S-Tech or Tanabe GF210

If you want a smoother more luxurious ride... TEIN H-Tech or Tanabe NF210

Depending on the mileage on your car, you may even want to look into coil overs like TEIN Basic or Tanabe S-0C... You dont want to do the labor to install the springs, and find out when you hit 60,000 your stock shocks are gone... (not saying they will be, but double labor for something that could have been prevented sucks...)

Thanks for the info...

My 18" wheels is coming really soon...

I think for 18"... 1" inch drop is almost a "must"...
(want to go further to maybe 2" inch drop, but $$$$$$ for coilover... )
And I drop my car mainly for look... not really for performance...

So I think I will get the Tanabe GF210 spring... which will give me 1.2" inch drop all around (or something like that... )

But I heard some members said "dropping the car more than 1" inch on spring will ................................blah blah blah"

So I want the know what is the main "disadavantage" for dropping the Z more than 1 inch on spring???
I've done reseach on it... some members said it has no problems at all, some said it will blow out the shocks and stuff...

Kinda confuse...
And I know getting coilover will solve all these problems... but then $$$$$ is an object to me and I drop my car mainly for look....

Going there for service soon. What do you recommend for 04 roadster with 19s.
No track, just want comfortable ride and slightly lowered.

Anyone know anything about the Tokico D-Spec Kit?
It's supposed to be 3/4 to 1" and only 600 for shocks/struts and springs.

hey ive got a question for you guys at performance... your d-spec suspension says it lowers the car .75"... but ive been told by a few people on here and in the "spring data base" i believe... that they lower 1.2"

The reason I ask is because I dont want to scrape my CF veilside lip and might consider different springs w/ d-spec shocks or tein basics or tanabe if those springs drop it too much.

I think its 800ish for the shocks and springs ... 600 ish for just the shocks.
