Default brakes getting crappier?

I've noticed that when i bought it had very strong brakes. As soon as i touched them it bit the rotor hard. But now, thebrakes have weakened quite a bit. Are my brakes in need of a bleed? When at idle, i can hit the brake to the floor w/ a lot of ease and when the engine is off, and i pump the brakes, theres a 1/2 inch of free play. Is my brake okay?

brakes wear over time.

Bleeding the brakes will help with the feel as over time your brake fluid has asorbed water and become less effective...

Check your pads and rotors might be near the point of replacement...

WIth a bleed, new pads and new rotors your brakes should feel like from the factory...

Steel Brake lines will help even more.
