Been there, done that. I already track tested these Stances, they work great! my favorite, all around coilover, so far.

WA2GOOD, when you tracked with the Stance coilovers was it with the true coilover setup with the 12kg/5kg spring rates? And how much of a performance difference do you forsee with the aforementioned 10kg/6kg setup?

Scott,

PM me with your phone number, b/c I lost all of my numbers from my old cell phone. I will inquire about the availability of the 10k/6k springs today and see if anybody has them in stock.

Yes, I tracked these Stances with the 12kg /5kg rates, they where realy good, better than most anything I have tried for the track, with also great ride quality for the street. I came to the conclusion (for my purposes)although no spring and shock is ever perfect in all circumstances these Stances where REAL close, I felt that the split between the front and rear should be closed up a bit (for a bit stiffer rear, and a bit softer front). This change would be , IMO, right on target for the Z. As for the G coupe, I am going to try the original 12/ 5, and it should be good for the G coupe, because of the difference in wheel base length and front vs, rear static weight ratio. I will let you know how it feels on the G soon.

10/5 can be special ordered on a per case basis.
...
i suggest sticking w/ the 12/5 spring rates and see how you like it and then go from there.
spring rates isnt everything.. its also about damping.

also the helper spring won't be released as of yet.

also for those who drift their z's this is a pretty good setup. w/ adjustability that is noticable.
it feels good on turn in.. definitely lost the under..
the rear end is a progressive slide w/ very lil violence.

Great coilovers especially for their price.

Default ride height

With the Stance coilovers, the distance from fender to wheel center on my car is now 13.5". This is not too high is it? I know that the manual said that 20 mm of the thread should be in the base.

Thanks for any help.

What's the rear spring's "free" length (removed from assembly)?

Some dirty pics with an old camera. These go low, when I first put them on the rear fender was almost even with the top of the rim.

I dont have the Stance coilovers. I have SilkRoad Section RM/A8 and I'm looking to convert my rear coilovers. I can order separate the SUS plate, spring seat, and locking seat, and 6kg/mm springs. But I found out by looking at one of the pics where the tape measure was on the JIC rear shock next to the Stance coilover, and it looks about 10", roughly 250mm on the jp site. So I'll be going by that. I just need to find out with ID spring would I need...63mm or 75mm. The reason is that I've pretty much maxed out the preload and there's a lot of slack. I need to get the rear a little tighter and Silk doesnt offer those spring types in a higher spring rate either and, I like the idea of converting the lower control arms to the battle version ones.

btw
section's coming out with these. I wonder if they'll come out for the Z33/V35.

Way to ruin some perfectly good OEM track wheels. Why are the wheel weights hammered on to the lips of the wheels???!
