Front and Rear Ventilated Disc Brakes

Front and Rear Ventilated Disc Brakes
I have a Performance model and have definitely been concerned since I purchased it a few months ago that there are NO holes in the discs themselves. Maybe this is a novice question, but if All the Zs are supposed to have these Front and Rear Ventilated Disc Brakes, then why aren't there any holes in the discs? Especially since every car I see with Ventilated Discs seems have holes in them.

Michael-Dallas is correct. Rotors with holes drilled through them are called "cross-drilled".
Vented rotors are hollow inside. Imagine two disks attached at their hub. They are not truly hollow inside.... if you look into a rotor from the edge you will see vanes inside the rotor. This is what causes the "venting" effect in the rotor... moving hot air out of the rotor and replacing it with the cooler surrounding air.
Vented rotors are designed to keep rotor temperatures lower than a solid rotor. As the rotor rotates, a venturi effect pulls air through the inner openings of the rotor, cooling the rotor.
Hope that helps.
