Default Just Got Stillen Sways! Suggestions For Settings

Just got the stillen sways...props to Chadd from Riverside Infiniti!!!! Buy from him! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick run-around of the different settings. I drive mostly freeway everyday and already have the Tein Flex. I definately don't need to be any stiffer. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks

Also, are there any bushings or collars that I can buy to make the sways better?

I thought Stillen sways already had the collars in them? If they didn't come with bushings, I think a lot of people go with Prothane. Anyway, I would start with med/med. With my Hotchkis sways I have tried soft/med, med/med, and hard/med. Soft up front the turn-in still felt a little sloppy and hard front induced all kinds of weird creaks/moans/rattles over uneven surfaces.

i haven't opened the box yet but i am pretty sure they come with collars too. but i think that you have to use the OEM bushings. where do i get prothane bushings? any auto store like autozone or kragen...etc.?

I have the Stillen Sway bars also and would like to install them in the next few weeks.

I have searched the suspension section and unable to locate any definitive info on which aftermarket bushings to use with the Stillen sways. The Stillen sways are 7/8" rear and 1 3/8" front.

I went to the zchickz site for install proceduers and I noticed the front sways are held in by 4 bolts while aftermarket bushings look like they only need two bolts is this OK. Will the OEM bushings work with the Stillen bars?

Will the following parts work with Stillen sways. Thanks.

Energy Suspension:
Front 1 3/8 P/N 9-.5158
Rear 7/8 P/N 9.5168

All aftermarket sway bars reuse the oem bushing frames in the front that I've ever seen, meaning they are secured with 4 bolts per side. In the rear, the Cusco's I used to have used the oem setup, while the rear 350EVO bar I have now came with it's own bushing frames, either way two bolts per side in the rear.

Yes you can use the OEM bushings with the Stillen bars. Prothane also makes dedicated 350Z sway bar bushings that you can also use.

I've had Prothane bushings installed w/ my Stillen sways since the sways were first installed. They have performed very well w/ no problems whatsoever. Got mine from:
Phil's Inc..Aotomotive Warehouse

Thumbs up

Thank you, Gsedan35 and jcpeyton for your quick responses, I guess I will go with the Prothane bushings.

Thanks again.

Got my prothane bushings from phil's as well. Fast shipping. I'd suggest med/med to start, and then go from there. I didn't notice any reduction in ride quality at those settings, but definitely less body roll and better tracking through corners.

used the oem bushings...everything went well. no probs at all. i heard that the prothane or any other aftermarket bushings might cause some noises. and you can only use the bushings on the rear. the front bushings cannot be replaced

That is entirely false. Haven't heard a peep out of mine yet, and you can replace the front bushings as well as the rear.

My Prothane bushings have been in about 8k miles. NO squeaks, NO problems. I installed them both front and rear.

I picked up Prothane bushings today along with a few other items @ Summit racing, I will try and install within the next couple of weeks providing the weather is decent.
