HELP NEEDED (350Z brakes)
Hey,
i Just got my car like 4 days ago.....
when i reverse the brakes start to make this loud pitch squeeking.
my main concern is that y is it squeeks when i reverse and press the brakes.
i asked around and alot of ppl give me diff answer such as 'ahhhhhhhhhh, u got dust in ur brakes man' and i went to the nissan dealer and of course they told me you gotta change the whole braking for 2000 dollars.
i was planing to put brembo braking kit, but nissan dealer is killing me with their prices.
thank you

Yep, try this. Do a hard stop (in a deserted area to be safe
) from about 50-60 mph to try and loosen the dust or pulverize the particle thats caught inbetween pad and rotor making the noise. Works for me. A funny story since Im on the subject, my wife has a 01 Ranger 4x4. She was hearing some squeaking and was whining to me about it even before I got here. I kept on telling her it was probably brake dust and to just stop really hard and itll prolly go away. Visual looked okay.Well she said one day "either you look at it or Im taking it to Ford." So we go for a drive I do a hard stop from about 35mph up to a stop sign and then......voila!!! No more squeaks. The look on her face!!Haha! Priceless!!! Okay sorry for the kinda OT rant

A new car has new brakes and should be bedded. See: http://www.pagidusa.com/bedding_in_procedure.htm.
Brakes make noise. No big deal.

when you say you "just bought" your car, did you buy a brand new Z or a used Z? if its new then as the other guys said you likely need to bed them correctly. even if they turn out to already be bedded correctly, the dealer should still take care of whatever problem might be associated since the car is only 4 days old. b!tch and cause a scene right in the showroom if you have to. now if the car is used, then you might be in need of new pads and/or rotors. take a look at the pad wear indicator to see how much is left, if its little to none then obviously its time for some new pads. I'd recommend talking to performance nissan about replacements.
i did the 35 miles then stoppin thing... it didnt work out that well the probel is with the reverse braking. i really appreciate your help but am thinkin of getting new brakes.
thinking of brembos but that will cost me 2 grand .

It is normal for brakes to make noise at times. Since yours a brand new, I'd give them a few weeks to break in. If after that time they are still making noise, bring it in to your dealer.
