Default i m gonna regret this..ROTORS

Ok guys start bashing away. Here s my problem. Nissan told me because of my new mags, after driving my rotors cool off too quick causing them to bend.lol. I ve had them grinded to shape twice costing 160$ each time. Any one recommend any good rotors that won t cause this problem?Preferably cross drilled????thanks guys.

by the time they re-cut your rotors, they are going to be at minimum tollerance...

just get new rotors that will last you longer anyway... thats their excuse...

My 90 Q has been warping oem [and Powerstop and other brands] for 16 years............I usually retrue the rotors every 7500 miles to bring them back into spec............All HIGH QUALITY brands of rotors usually last 40-50,000 miles before reaching wear limit........about 4-5 retrues [I do it early when the warps just exceed 0.003" so I can just remove 0.005" per side or less].

Performance cars driven in a frisky manner demand precision maintenance.

Customers with big heavy wheels and tires don't understand that EVERYTHING
SUFFERS from their mods except maybe their ego if their pocket book can stand it.

your wheels had NOTHING to do with your rotors warping...the fact that you cut them twice did.

Most times, stock rotors can be cut once, though as Jason said, it depends what matters is what thickness they were before you cut them.

There are lots of good rotors out there for the car. I recently swapped over the DBA's on my car, and they've been terrific

I got some heavy 19's and upgraded my brake system to stoptech S&D Rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads and SS Brake Lines. Its been about 10,000 miles with moments of heavy braking with no warping or other issues, deff. recommend this setup.

It's the other way around... heavy oversized wheels casue the rotors to heat up and warp easily. That's why people buy slotted / drilled rotors to disapate heat, securing a cooler rotor thus preventing warping, extending the life of their braking system.

Those BIG wheels you have are causing undue stress on your entire suspension, brake system, steering system and ultimately they will shorten the life of all the ruber suspension components, brake pads and rotors, excess stress on brake lines and so on.

The idea is this...
How would you feel if I added 100 extra pounds to you to carry around and manuever each day? You would wear out and tire quickly.

No likey BIG wheels, adds unsprung weight, detrimental against performance and handling.
Agree. Big wheels (heavy) put more wear and tear on the brakes. Its just simple mechanics. The OEM brakes are no longer going to suffice. I recommend a big brake kit.

given his picture though, I think I know the wheel he is running, and they are lighter than many wheels people run on these cars.

the cutting of the rotor 2 x caused the issue, not the wheels

thats fine dude, but when your selling someone a 60 thousand dollar car, just make sure you can provide some customer service to them. Your mother gave birth to you,she fed you as well and she new what to feed you.Right? So you would expect the same from nissan..

I disagree. Warping is caused by overheating followed by a rapid cool down, not weight factors. Weight factor may definitely cause premature pad wear though. Upgrading to a 19 inch wheel is not that much added stress or weight, and should not be a factor contributing to over stress. Upgrading to let's say, 22 or larger would probably be a factor. This is a common problem with larger vehicles such as SUV's. Many Z owners are still equiped with stock brakes and upgraded larger rims, with no problems.
