Anyone saw that DIY alignment in the Import Tuner Mag.? it was last months, I’m just wondering if anyone has it and can post the article or just comment on a DIY alignment. The article supposedly said that it’s more actuate then a shop...

We did the manual alignments on our school race cars. It's not too bad...just more time consuming. hard part is finding level ground.

I see, i figured since with the new coilovers i might be playing around with the height a bit, and didn't wanna spend 100+ for each alignment.

As said earlier, level Ground is the hardest part. IMO, If im spending 1000+ on suspension Ill spend an extra 75 on a alignment

Yeha, there were DIY alignments before they were computer ones. I've set up lots of race cars, including the schools, (what school 636 racer?) and 636, if you can find level ground, ti's not hard. Invest in a digital level (easiest way to check camber and generally a good tool to have, mitutoyo ($) and "smarttool" make them), or a camber gage (intercomp, rebco, lots of people make 'em, try www.bakerprecision.com or www.racerpartswholsale.com)) and make a way to check toe, and you're ready to roll.

on the front, all you can adjust is toe. I have been using an adjustable stick I made and a level for camber.

It's Hawaii International Racing School, now renamed Formula Hawaii. It used to be a Skip Barber school before the owner, Doc Bundy, left for the mainland and, a new owner, Shigeomi Hirabayashi, took it into arms to create HIRS.
