Default slotted rotor direction?

Silly question! I bought slotted and dimpled rotors and since I had no means of measuring the run out I had my dealer install them. I am having noise problems which are to be resolved onm Monday but in the meantime I wonder if they have installed them the right way round! Which way should the slots and dimples run? They are presently installed with the slots and dimples running to the back from the top. Is this right or should the slots and dimples run toward the front from the top of the rotors?

You don't say what brand you got but EBC stamp the part number with an R & L right on the hat. You might even be able to see them through your wheels if they are open enough.

As for others, it all depends on the manufacturer, it has to do with the directions of the internal cooling veins, not the external slots.

As long as you are non-directional internal vane rotors, the direction of the surface slot/drill holes/dimples doesn't matter.
