Default Operation OEM brembo upgrade...

I stopped by my local junk yard and picked up a set of brembo's off a G35. It came with almost everything except rotors. So I have a set of rotors and pads and fluid on order. Anyone have any tips installing these calipers?

They look very easy except the whole bleeding line process in which i hope someone on the board will enlighten me with. The guy at the parts yard said I couldn't do it myself unless I had a special bleeding machine.

I'm working on this too. If I get the parts first, I'll post the info and pix for you.

I did the same thing then had them powdercoated red. Great mod.
The install is real easy. Just remember to cut away the dust shields behind the stock rotors to make room for the new ones. Bleeding is a simple two man job. If I were you, I would invest in some nice stainless steel brake lines while your at it. That's also an easy upgrade.

By the way, I found them over the phone at a junkyard in Texas. Got them shipped down to me for a steal.

The install manuals for our kits may help you. Obviously there are differences, but they should provide a good basic guide:

Does the shield need to be trimmed or can it just be pounded out.

Also..... Do I need a rubber hose to bleed the brake lines since the caliper's bleed fitting must be pointing up. I'm afraid that the brake fluid will eat thru the powder coat on the caliper.

You will need some sort of tube for bleeding your brakes. GO to a local auto parts store and look for a brake bleeding kit...it should have what you need.

Your stock brake lines will not work so you will need to look into that. :begin pitch: Our 350Z lines are compatible with the standard calipers as well as the Brembo calipers so you may want to look into that :end pitch:

Nice. I've got a set sitting in my garage. (I want to wait until my Volks get here and then install everything at once.

I heard that the rear mounting bolts for the non-Brembo calipers are too short and so you must buy the mounting bolts for a Brembo equipped Z. This is unconfirmed but when I went to the dealer to buy these bolts, the part number was not the same as the non-Brembo bolts.

Props for undertaking this project. I am curious though why you didn't just get a new front BBK instead. $1350 seems kind of pricey just for the calipers. Either way a huge improvement over stock and I know you will be happy with the end result.
