How difficult is it to install coilovers?

Default How difficult is it to install coilovers?

Just wondering if its difficult at all to install? Im deciding if i should take a stab at it myself of just have a shop install them for me?

Its pretty easy. I can do it in about 2 hours now.

Agreed.
When I did mine, it took about 3.5 hrs. Had to get a spring compressor.

installation takes me about an 1 hour, with air tools, no spring compressor. however, setting up the suspension is another story.

you do not need a spring compressor to install coilovers
636 is right...the install is not the problem, dialing it all in is what takes the time

setting the proper rideheight, corner weighting, aligning, spring preload, etc

this sound like a good project to work on at home. The thing is i need to find out more about how to actually dial it in properly

does n e one have any tricks for the front suspension? the rear is easy enough, but the last time i was working on the front of my suspension, i couldn't pry the lower arm down far enough to get the shock off of it. I had trouble getting the lower arm off the car altogether as well, it wouldn't line up well for the bolt to go back in when i tried to re-align the lower arm.

any tips? my techs at perf. nissan used to use a pry bar to pull the lower arm down.... I don't have one, nor do I feel comfortable doing so without a lift.....
any tricks?????

Hey, there is this video of installing coilovers yourself but on a 370z. I dont think it should be that different
