Default sway bars...

i heard that sway bars will pretty much ruin your ride on a daily driver.. it's a little rough and bouncy?? I do know that it helps greatly on the handling aspect but has anyone experienced a huge jump in the way your 350 rides as far as smoothness when you put on your sway bars?

I prophesy a thread move to the suspension section.

sway bars do nothing to the ride...............who told you that?

I didn't notice a single change in the ride quality with my hotchkis bars.

Sway bars indirectly help the ride. If you didn't have swaybars, you would need much stiffer springs to maintain the same level of body roll, which would ruin the ride.

First off, the Z already has swaybars. It has a tight, rough ride but that's caused by more than just the sways.

Adding stiffers sways are supposed to affect the ride on rough roads, but I personally haven't noticed any difference. A rough ride is still a rough ride.

From the Wikipedia on Sway Bars:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sway_bar

Drawbacks
Because an anti-roll bar connects wheels on the opposite sides of the vehicle together, the bar will transmit the force of one-wheel bumps to the opposite wheel. On rough or broken pavement, anti-roll bars can produce jarring, side-to-side body motions (a "waddling" sensation), which increase in severity with the diameter and stiffness of the sway bars.

I think you're confusing the sway bars with the springs.

Sway bars are usually less than half [20-50%] the stiffness of springs [actual wheel rate] and don't fully engage [rubber bushings] until the first inch of body roll to reduce the impact of minor street bumps.

just installed my cusco sways and i haven't noticed much difference in bumpiness, but a HUGE difference in the turns. Once I get my coilovers then the ride quality will dramtically change.
