How much of a drop is allowed for Tein Basics? I'm planning to run 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 . I want to tuck the front and rear wheels - is this possible with Tein Basics?

Great looking pics btw, well done.

That's what I meant, the "spring seats" where the rear spring's coilover sleeves sit.
My rear is lowered all the way without modifying the spring seat yet.
>>>"so if all intent is to tuck the wheels, would TEIN Basics be adequate?"
No, you would have the shave a little off the rubber spring seat. The Basics at full-lower, still hover about a quarter inch off the wheel with the 275/35/19 on a 19 by 10.5 wheel.

From the looks of it, you can go lift the car a tad higher than stock. That's just from looking at the coilovers when I was installing them.

They ride stiffer and handle ALOT tighter than stock with little to no body roll.
No bottoming out with it slammed all the way, since the springs are a tad stiffer. I get over speed bumps fine.
Now if the front were lowered another inch I probably would have trouble but I'm content with where it's at.
As far as a DIY, I never wrote one but if you have any particular questions during installation I'm more than willing to help via PM.

i have tein basics on my car also...IMHO, they're a pretty good set of coilovers for the price. I don't track my car so i don't know how well it handles on a track but for aggressive street/back roads driving, i can tell the response is a bit better than stock. There is a significant amount of body roll reduction from the stock setup. As far as lowering the car goes...i set the rear at the lowest setting while the front is dropped a little bit over 1inch. I like the way it sits and i don't intend to go any lower.
thanks sokudo. I have already made my decision between the basics and the stance coilovers. I chose to go with the basics.
Like you, i dont really track my car. I would just like new shocks with my springs. I was thinking about getting tokico d-specs which run around $500-550. The basics start around $750-800. Not a hard choice if you ask me.
So how is the ride over bumps, highway and etc...?

It's stable and smooth on nice parts like the 5 or 405 by Irvine/ OC.
The ride over bumps is a little stiff but at least your chasis won't dive around making you feel unstable. It's pretty predictable and tite.
It's stiffer than stock but you'll love it in the tight corners. My girl never complains about the ride so I know it's a good compromise.

Here is my rear at full drop: (front can go another inch or so)
