Default Brake Caliper Painting

I have tried to search this and no luck (so have mercy).

Someone posted a a thread about painting brake calipers. I can't find that thread again, can anyone help? I have ordered the paint from tirerack but I need to order the stickers that go on the calipers. This thread, that I am looking for, has the links to Nissan 350Z stickers specifically made for the Z calipers.

Can anyone help me?

Mark

Anyone know how enduring these things are? Will they be affected by the generated heat during breaking or do the last long?

Not that bad, wife helped me do it, just use lots of newspaper and beware that stuff hardens pretty quickly. Don;t take too long on each wheel either. GL! Oh and buy a better paint brush.

Do you have to be careful when you wash your wheels?

I've had my decals for almost a year and no problems while cleaning wheels. I even spray wheel cleaner on the calipers to get the brake dust off and no problems.
I did paint the calipers red and then put the stickers on, but I put 3 coats of clear on them, so I'm guessing that helps.

Is that Clear Coat come in a can or is is brush on? Can I get it at a local auto store? Any advice on what product you would recommend?

Thanks for the help.

I just received my G2 paint from Tire Rack, waiting for my stickers from JVD. I went with the "350Z" front calipers and "NISSAN" rear calipers, should look read nice. Probably get this tihing going in the next week or so.

just completed my G2 paint job and JVD sticker application (with clear coating as recommended in here). This came out perfectly and was a fun project, just like painting model cars when I was a kid. I would recommend this project to anyone. Thanks for the help guys. I had to leave town on business as soon as I got the project done, so no pix yet.

I can't wait to get home and see the car. I haven't even had it out of the garage to see what it looks like from a few feet back. It looked awesome up close.
