Nice, but you can prob get a set of Stoptechs cheaper. Also, you may want to buy from a company that specializes in brakes. Greddy doesn't specialize in anything.

The GREX brakes are made by ALCON, they're just tagged GREX. ALCON is used on FIA, INDY and NASCAR, if its good enough for professional racing, it sure as hell is good enough for a street car.

You are correct that they are Alcon brakes, but that doesn't mean it's a great setup for the Z. I'd tend to go with a company that tests out their products and makes the correct product for each car, like Stoptech, Brembo, etc.

GREX brakes are NOT made by Alcon, they used to be years back.

Greddy ALCON brakes are available. They are a JDM item. The standard USDM GREX 6 front 4 rear are the same brakes as the Rotora brakes. Somebody better tell me I'm a pimp!

Link to used GREX USDM brakes in the classified section....

Great question. I have tested almost all BBK's that are currently available for these cars. In my findings, after alot of street driving and some hard track abuse, I would go with the Megan Racing's BBK, hands down......Especially for the money.

JET is right, GREX brakes as well as Megan Racing come from the same manufactuer as Rotora. In all honestly, I would never put a BBK on my car when the manufactuer cannot provide any substantial technical data, how they R&D the BBK, or have a track record. Brakes are crucial in a cars dynamics, especially on the track. Only BBK's I have considered so far for my personal car is STOPTECH, Project Mu and Endless. There also a lot of other BBK companies out there like AP, ALCON, etc.

Alot of "Brake" companys and brake kits are put together using the same calipers and piston sizes that are used on other cars... they just make brackets to mount the calipers etc... that is as far as some brake manufacturers go to "engineer" a kit for a car...

STOP TECH on the other hand (as well as some other manufacturers but STOP TECH has their R&D Data avaialble to the public) spends alot of time R&Ding a kit for each of their specific applications... They test multiple variations of piston sizes to maintain and improve brake balance...

more reading on stop tech's re-search can be found here...

http://stoptech.com/tech_info/tech_white_papers.shtml

There is a great article im sure someone can post here one the testing of their 350z kits...

another thing to look at when purchasing a brake kit is how easy it is to get replacement parts and service... STOP TECH is the leader in the industry as far as technical support and repair parts and rebuilding services... They are LOCAL in the US and STOCK rebuild parts et c etc etc... Their calipers also have the widest range of Brake Pad Manufacturers and compounds available... Theyr rotor replacements are fairly inexpensive compared to others and did I mention their support rules?

I remember actually reading an article where different tuners had a shoot out in one of the import magazines...and surprisingly enough the GREX equipped Greddy car had the worst braking. Wish I could tell you which mag and date it was off the top of my head but it was an old one. The stock brakes outperformed them as well.

Well personally Im going with Project Mu, the forged caliper kit isnt bad at all and you have a choice of 355 mm rotors.

We saw some results like that with other companies in the last years Acura RSX Challenge:

Might you be talking about this one?
