I have 25,000 miles on my drilled StopTechs with vertually no wear. But Im not a Brake Hog, I use brakes to Stop not Slow Down.

Special thanks to Joseph Brinkmeier for garage, tools and patience.
I know you probably haven't put 10k miles on the rotors yet (or have you?), but I'm just wondering what your impressions are? Are you feeling that they are as good as Nissan OEM? Wne installing them; did you happen to notice if there was a noticable difference in weight? I'm looking to get new rotors and I've been considering R1concepts.

Those guys have unbelievable prices... $89 for 4 rotors!

http://www.r1concepts.com/Items/combo%20oe%20205?

I wander what can be wrong with rotor - it's just a piece of metal right?

My bro and I looked into it further. The intenal vane pattern that they have is pretty basic, just radial vanes. My guess is for the street they should be fine, but for the track or performance driving, they would more than likely overheat.

For conventional cars I buy rotors at Napa for 25-30 apiece, made in China, but never had a problem. But I'd be a little leery of these, not to say they are bad, but just leery. Bottom line is the quality of the steel. Of course China is buying all our scrap ( the reason steel prices have skyrocketed in the US the last couple year )

If your a casual driver, give them a try

Here are a couple of wheel photos. I took these several hundred miles after washing for a comparison. The front wheels are as clean as the rear. Impressed with r1concepts pads lack of dust.

I have these on my car. Bought them about three months ago. So far, so good. A steal on the prices imo.

Thumbs up

installed my front crossdrilled/slotted R1 concept tonight, bedded them in and everything works and looks fine. i don't think i'll be working on the rears until this weekend.
A breaker bar was used to loosen those 22mm bolts and the front rotors came off w/o any issues. Took me less than a couple of hours to complete. i reused those recently installed tirerack canadian ceramic pads. For those who are contemplating getting the R1concept rotors... i'd say it's a no brainer, you can't lose for 170 bucks(4rotors) shipped.

Brakes: r1concepts-img.jpg

Brakes: r1concepts-img-2.jpgWell, there is about 15% improvement on initial bite over the stock rotors, well worth the investment IMO.

thank you very much.
i'm quite impressed myself to tell you the truth. i was skeptical at first just like everyone else here until i actually put them on the Z. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and dare to say that these rotors are at least equal to if not exceeding oem specifications. Since i do mostly street driving, i don't see why the rotors wouldn't last just as long as the stock ones.

Do one well paced track day and count how many cracks the rotors have afterward. That or the pads will probably fade before the rotors can get hot enough to crack.

BTW...i don't use my brakes to slow down, i use my brakes to stop the car. i think that makes a big difference in durability.

I've been waiting for David's final review, and I'm glad everyone else chimed in as well. These are getting ordered tomorrow along with some Hawks HPS!
