Default Spring install - reuse upper rubber seat??

After installing the HKS hipermax RS at the shop, I noticed the upper rubber seats for the rear springs (the ones that look like a thick rubber funnel) isn't put in. Do I need to put it in?

No, because you can't and could not even if you wanted to.

As a habit I save pictures of coilover systems, in case I need to refer back and examine them for this or that. I have a picture of a RS and II setup with all the part's spread out. On the II I can plainly see a rubber pad under the upper spring mount. In the RS picture I cannot clearly see a pad, but IMO it has to be their.

so the 2 upper rubber cones won't fit. I thought it would sit on top of the rear springs just like the OEM.

NEVER reuse a rubber. didn't you learn anything in sex ed jk

on the s-tech springs I believe the install manual actually says to reuse the rubber, but then on my flex coilovers you don't.

The rubber is to stop any squeaking or noise from the spring being in contact with the upper support bracket.

That looks like a bumpstop, and you want to keep that if you can fit it in there...
