Default Does G35 Coupe and 350Z have the same shock?

The reason why I'm asking this is because I've heard from people that G35 Coupe and 350Z use the same shock but different springs, and now I'm switching back to OEM stock shocks from my Cusco Coilover, however I sold my shocks and springs a while back. My friend has a G35 Coupe shock available, and this is why I'm asking if G35 Coupe and 350Z use the same shock.

I'm not sure if they are exactly the same, but they are interchangeable. THe g35 shock is likely slightly longer because of its higher stance, but can be used on a Z without any issues other than probably wearing out quicker. Make sure to find out if the shocks came from a 05-06 sport suspension or nonsport suspension because the sport suspensino shocks are required to run with a revised OEM 350z setup

The g35 coupe rear shocks are 1/2" taller. Also the g35 coupe rear springs are a hair taller. If your 350z is '04.5+ with the revised suspension then you had 427 lb/in rear spring rate. In that case then you'll want to use a coupe sport supension with the same 427 lb/in rear spring with the stiffer rear shock.

G35 coupe shocks have different part numbers then 350Z shocks. In certain circumstances, they are valved very close if not the same.

03/04 oem Z shocks: Stiffer then ANY oem G35 coupe shock,...period

04.5+ oem Z shocks: Stiffer then any oem G35 coupe shock on a car running oem 17"/18" wheels. (need's to be said that 04.5+ Z has 25% stiffer rear spring rates)

04.5+ oem Z shocks: IMO, valved simular to oem G35 coupe shocks on car's running oem 19" wheels. (both car's have the same oem spring rates 314/427)

G35 coupe sport suspension shock part#’s (only on car's delivered on oem 19" wheels)

Right front 56110am829
Left front 56110am885

Rear (2) 56210cd726

2003-2006 coupe shock part numbers without sport suspension, all car's delivered on oem 17"/18" wheels
R or L front 56110am806
R or L front 56110am807
Rear (2) 56210am902

I have oem 350Z shock part numbers for 03/04 and 04.5+ car, however I try not to post the numbers in public to keep reseller honest when G35 owners demand shock part numbers. Number's are totally different then the G35 part numbers above.

Seems that Gsedan35 got it right on the nose! We get alot of G coupe owners that like to buy the used 350Z suspension as an upgrade to what the stock set up is.

I don't quite understand... does that mean G coupe change to 350Z oem suspension because it is lower than G coupe oem suspension?

+1

I put '03 350Z springs and shocks on my G35 coupe. Definately a DIY job, fit perfect.

It lowered my G by about 0.5 to 0.75 an inch. Got it aligned a few weeks later within spec without a camber/toe kit. Made the G feel just like my previous 350Z.
