Question resurfacing rotors

hey whats up everyone. i had a quick question. i know and have read that when you change your brake pads, you should resurfaces your rotors if not replace them. well today i helped a buddy of mine change his rear pads in his 2005 altima. while i was helping him i told him that he needed to resurfaces his rotors or replace them. but he kept saying you dont have to cause the pads will eventually even to the rotor
is this true?

You Don't Need To Resurface Rear Rotors Like You Do Front Rotors Bc The Majority Of The Stopping Is Taken Care Of By Front Brakes. Only On Rare Occasions Do You Need To Resurface Rear Rotors!

not necessarily true. On my 06 non-brembos, the rear wore out way quicker than the front, leaving me with grooves and whatnot on the rear rotors. That's just a characteristic of 06 non-brembo i think.

Unless they are cracked (rare on plain rotors) or warped (very rare indeed) you need new rotors.

Rotors shouldn't need to be resurfaced, never.

The new pads will conform to the circular ridges eventually. It will take a bit longer than on a flat "new" rotor, but you'll then have even more contact area for braking.

resurfacing a rotors is a waste of money and will simply accelerate wear. Double waste...
