Question Which brake pads.....too confusing

I have searched heavily for the past couple hours, and now I'm more confused than before. I've read recommendations for stock pads, Hawk HP+ and HPS, Performance Friction, Endless Vita Nuova, and Axxis Ultimates...all for stock setup for the street.

My wife and I both drive the Z aggressively. I've done some autox events in the past, but have since moved on to other venues. I think stock pads would be sufficient, but can't stand how fast the dust builds up. SO...which pad performs better than stock with less dust and will not kill the rotors?

TIA,

Lavon

54K miles on the same pads????

I, like everyone else it seems, am just doing the routine "which brake pads/rotors should I get" search, lol.

I'm sure it's going to come down to the fact that everyone has their own opinions/experiences on a multitude of pad and rotor combos and I'll just have to find one that works for me and my driving needs and style. But I'd much rather read the dozens and dozens of threads on here first before making a quick, uneducated purchase to find it was the wrong one.

I ran the Red EBC pads with my EBC sport rotors and they are pretty good. Has way less dust on wheels and will not eat up your rotors. Will be trying the EBC yellow stuff pads next week. The yellow's are supposed to have more bite to them...we will see. But, as far as pads go it is all personal preference in my opinion.

Check out the new Issue of D-Sport. They did a huge brake review and Performance Friction came out the winner for the street pad!!

Yeah the D-Sport article lays it out pretty well, wish they had done Hawk just to get a comparison for them on the table with the rest.

I am liking my Redstuffs quite a bit right now and will most likely buy them again.

I'm a fan of the Project Mu B-Force pads. I ran them on my NSX and now on the Z. Very low dust, good on track and don't make noise. If I don't buy these again I may try the Nismo R-Tune pads next time around.

the NISMO's would be great, as would the Endless SS-S given your wants/needs

Why would you mix compounds like that?

Seams like you would throw the bias out of whack with that setup. The Green is a softer pad with more initial bite, while the Red is a harder pad with slightly less initial bite but better heat handling.

Project Mu B-Force are pretty good. Their not that expensive, have low dust/noise, better initial bite than stock and good overall stopping power. I've heard you can track them as well.

Just get OEM pads if you liked the feel.

As for dust, wax your mags and rinse them more often...
