Exclamation HELP !!!! HAWK HPS BRAKE PADS for brembro brakes

I NEED HELP...Tried to install front and rear brake pads for my G35 w/brembro brakes with Hawk HPS Brake Pads and ran into a couple of problems.
1) I was able to install only 2 of the four front brake pads. For some reason 2 of them will not slide in. The Pad was catching on the edges of the caliper in the inside. I compared the size to the OEM pads and look maybe 1/16th or 1/8 larger on the edges (but to close) I tried the other two pads and the fit in easily...I tried to tapp it in with but it woudnt go ( I was also worried I couldnt pull them out to replace them later). What should I do; try to sand the edges or send it back??? (And I made sure that pistons where not in the way)

2) I was able to install only 2 of the four rear brake pads. This is beacuse one of the pads had an unusual bubbles on the back of the pad. The bubble where material not pant so I couldnt just scratch it off. The bubles are about 1/16th itch thick...Look at the pics attached...I dont not want to put them on becuase Im worried the bubbles effect the piston pushing on the back of the pad. Causing the pad to push in not straight ( and causing possible squeek)... See the pics below and the link

Make sure its not the pistons blocking the pads from sliding in.

u have to compress the pistons back.. they have to be even with each other when sliding in the pads.

Sorry about the headache. Package all the pads. Return them for a refund. Buy some pads that fit properly.

BTW the photo that you posted is about 1 square inch. I cant see jack.

I cant tell from that pic ---But many pads use a paint on the metal that is very thick and I have seen it have dried bubbles ---If it is on the back of the pad dont worry bout it or sand it smooth if it bugs u

Either the new fronts match the old ones or they dont as far as Dimples,Warning clips,Size of the backing. If they dont u have a prob,If they are very close, mod it a little. Keep in mind there is generally an inboard and an outboard pad. Make sure u spray some anti-squeal on them ( THE BACKING PLATE ) and lube ur sliders. Relaxe and use common sense. As with anything, Mod it or return it.
Before u blame QC make sure ur installation control is working.
Many times I have trimmed the backing plate so I have a good "Float" with no bind
If u dont do a lot of brakes --do one side at a time so u have a reference.
Brakes are VERY important but not rocket science. Piston/s push pad,pad contacts rotor, car stops.---Chk it out and let us know.

BTW---Always open ur bleeder and tap the caliper after a pad change, Doesnt matter whether u opened the system or not, Your RIGHT there --do it, u will always get a couple bubbles.

I pushed the pistions in back flush with the caliper so it would not get in the way of the pad ( i even slid the pad in verticale to make sure that the piston was not in the way ) its the edges that are running into the calliper...agghhh

I just had these installed at Stillen. You do have to grind down 2 of the front pads for correct fitment. 1 on each side.

Strange. I didn't have to sand/grind anything to get my pads to fit.

What exactly are you guys having to grind down?

You have to sand them down, all Brembo owners who run these have to. I'll never buy Hawk pads again...

yep, i installed some HP pads on a specV with the 4 piston brembo brake calipers and I also had to sand down the edges of the pads so that it would slide in. Luckily we had a bench grinder so it only took a few minutes to get them all done and the car was on its way.

Yes, I have owned a lot of cars, and done a lot of brake pads, but never had to modify them to fit. Hopefully they work good though!

not the case..I've done about 40 of them so far, of which 1 had to be ground...it took about 2 minutes of my time to do. It's an irregularity with the manufacturing I am sure, and I've had it happen on pads from every manufacturer at least 1 time, from Mintex to Carbotech, Project Mu to Ferodo, even on some factory OE replacement pads from the BMW dealer.
