i didnt end up ordering rotors yet atleast (hopefully wont need to) I know I need brakes pads since its been about 30K miles since i changed all my pads. As for rotors I am going to take the car to MY mechanic (since Tires Plus Mechnics are idots) today. and see if I need to order rotors.

I have been doing some reaserch on rotors. I have heard the rotors from R1Concepts are pretty good. They sell on ebay and the prices are great. $200 MAX !! I Havent heard anything from "Z" owners but i messaged past cutomers of his through ebay and they all seemed pretty satisfied. I was looking at the Drilled and Slotted ones for like $140 plus shipping for 4. SOUNDS CHEAP but there has been positive feedback on them so it might be risky but maybe they are pretty good

There was a Write-Up on R1Concepts Rotors on this Forum from member named DAVID or something back in 2/2007. It was on the regular rotors, not the drilled and slotted. He said the quality seemed pretty good. So what I would think is MAYBE if theyre regular rotors are good quality... THEN there drilled and/or slotted shouldnt be all that bad as long as they dont have a million holes in them affecting the integrity or the metal

I'm thinking that its 4 rotors for the price of 1. Its a risk that doesnt cost to much and HEY .... YOU NEVER KNOW ... it might accually be pretty damn good too.

asp17,

Post the link once you find what you like. I am probably ordering some too.

If the pads are changed, do you need to resurface the rotors?

In previous cars, I didn't resurface it.

Heres the link for those rotors on Ebay from R1Concepts. and theyre number is 714-777-2323.

Ive been told you should resurface them so you get minimum shaking and noise. i could be wrong.

The dealer resurfaced mine at about 25K miles on my first brake job. Then again at 30K miles from the dealer because of brake noise.

I was told that since its been 55K on the rotors and theyve been cut twice then chances of me having to change them are pretty high?

I have been running the Stoptech Stage II and it is a very nice upgrade over OEM. Not much dust and the bite is very good for street use. Pads, rotors, and brake lines for around $650.00 if I remember correctly.

Get your stock rotors resurfaced at a brake shop. Install HAwk HP+ pads. SS Brake lines. Change fluid to Motul dot-4. Done. Cheap.

Should be less than $350

I'd love to test this against a BBK for stopping distance. Not to mention that the BBK is usually front only.

Friends don't let friends buy BBK (f only) kits.

I got mine from rotorpros.com $190 shipped. I just got the slotted because I don't trust drilled rotors. They are the same blanks stoptech uses so I don't see why I should spend $200+ more to go stoptech. I'll be spending the extra $$$ I saved to get SS lines.

Hey that’s me. I like the R1Concepts set-up. Great braking, quiet and limited dust. The key will be longevity. I will review the brakes at 10,000 miles.
