Exclamation Looking For: Silver Caliper StopTech BBK Owners

Can you please post pictures of your kit installed. Found someone's Brembos painted silver and would like to see the StopTech kit in silver. Looking at purchasing the 14" (355mm) 6-pot (F) & 4-pot (R) kit. Just want to make sure silver is what I want. Thanks!!!

The silver is a great looking color. Since silver is a special order, there is a lead time for any bbk with silver calipers. Also if you plan on tracking your car a lot it would be better to go with red or black calipers. They stand up to the heat better.

Why is that? Doesn't sound logical if it is all the same type of paint.

Changing the color of the calipers through heat isn't something that is easy to do. A lot of heat has to be created in order for the calipers to do so.

Given enough heat, any color caliper from any company will start to change, with exception to black. Heat tends to turn things darker, so the dark colors don't change as much. The lighter colors tend to be more sensitive to heat.

So more than likely, there will be no problems with any of the colors, even though you suggest against it?

You should see what the OEM Brembo's look like after a good number of track sessions. They're almost brown.
Robert, how's it going? Having fun in the sun? I'm looking at silver Stoptech's as well, but the 332mm front and ST20 calipers in the rear for track days and Time Trial use. I'm tired of my stock brakes overheating and fading out. Or melting piston boots. Anyways, nice choice for brakes. Can't wait till you're back,
Will

Some guys go out and never turn their calipers from any color than how they arrived. Other guys go out and create huge amounts of heat turning calipers super dark. So it's hard to judge who drives how hard from the forums. That's why I advise that it may happen, and usually suggest the safer route of going to red or black calipers to prevent color changes.

Brembo's anyone?
