Default 06 Non-Brembo Pad / Fluid / Line Change

I do not have any problems changing brake pads. I have done that quite a few times. I have never done anything with fluid or lines though.

I recently purchased Hawk HPS Pads, Goodridge SS Lines, and Motul Brake Fluid.

I tried to find a write up for fluid / brake line change with no results.

Now for the questions:

1. To drain the brake fluid, should I just open up all the bleeder valves and start pumping the brake? Will this get all of the fluid out?

2. Once the fluid is out of the system, can I just start unbolting old rubber lines until all for corners are removed?

3. Is there anything special I need to do to attach the new lines? I.E. Grease the threads? Locktite the threads?

4. Once I get the new lines / pads mounted, what is the procedure for putting in the new fluid?

Sorry about all the newb questions. Thanks in advance for your help though.

Smile Goodridge SS LInes

I had my Goodridge SS Lines (Stop Tech when opening the parts box) installed at the local Nissan dealership. Cost $200 for the swap out, flush, fill and bleed with stock Nissan Brake Fluid. Not bad and I didn't even get messed up. I was happy with the results too. Much better pedal feel. I plan to swap the rotors, pads, and Hi-Temp brake fluid soon. Just my thoughts.

Do not completely empty the system of fluid. If you do all you will have is air and it will take you a long, long, long time to bleed all the air out. The Z/G platform is pretty picky when it comes to bleeding the brakes. Read over this installation manual for the Stoptech lines carefully and you should be able to apply most if not all of it to your situation.
