Default Front Lower Control Arm Bushings Cause This?

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue: driving at hwy speeds when I give the car gas, it feels like the rear end is swaying to the right.

Got the car on the rack and all we could find was the front lower control arm bushings are shot.

It actually feels like the rear of the car is moving about 10 inches when I give it gas...could this be the cause?

Thanks in advance.

did you get the alignment checked?

I would try getting the rear toe looked at.

YES~! front lower control arm inner bushing will tear and the arm will physically slide back and forth...on the bolt......

simply driving straight down the hwy becomes a chore, as the car is "wiggly" and dances left to right.......even more pronounced on lane changes...

so far, to my knowledge SPL makes bushing for them...$149 for the inners only. Those are the main culprits...

edit*
Whiteline makes bushings as well as many of our vendors sell them too. search ( Whiteline bushings, translink, inner lower control arm bushing), etc..

Mine didn't have that problem, but when i ran a non stagger tire setup (front and rear equal height ) the car had severe problems on the highway.

sounds like a similar issue i had when the rear lower control arm worked loose where it hooks up with the toe bolt. I had new lower control arms/toe bolts installed.

the rear end swayed back and forth like a **** at speeds above 30mph.

well i've bought 4 new tires and got an alignment but the car still seems to sway/wiggle making it a chore to drive on the highway. took my car for a checkup at 4 different places and everyone said everything was fine. will look into bushings and lower control arms.

The would have noticed the bushings bad when you brought it in for alignment. Please post your Tire sizes and how much your car has been lowered (front and rear) if any.

my (04) car is currently lowered on tanabe gf-210 springs w/ 08 revised shocks and my (mixed & staggered) tires are stock 17inch specs. also, the 08 shocks were noticeably shorter than my 04 shocks which I think would make a difference i'm sure because the car still bounces like crazy. i've been trying to pinpoint the cause of my car feeling stable/loose/wiggly especially the rear. the steering feels loose sometimes also but not sure why.

On my car and others cars i've driven with a non staggered in height tire setup, they car sways badly at freeway speed. I know part or most of the problem comes from the increase in castor in the front end with the change in rake.

I currently have this problem but it doesn't seem to be that bad... but I used to have 20's in a non-staggered setup and i down sized to a 17f-18r setup and it started to do it... but now that I lowered the car an inch it seems to not even be noticable... and I haven't even gotten an alighnment yet...
