Default BBK Poll

I have a dilemma here. I'm having a hard time deciding between several different BBK's out in the market. They are Rotora 6 pod bbk, AP racing 6 pod BBK, Stoptech 14" BBK, or Brembo 14" BBK. I need everyone's opinion on making my final decision. I need to know which to buy and why. Thanks for everyone's input.

I have no clue which brand is better but the blue Rotora's are what I love, just based on their looks alone.

Stoptechs are suppoe to be good, I think.

AP is the best one made on your list. Rotora is crap. The others are in between.

I always thought Brembos were the best, probably cause I heard their name so much. Stoptech seems to get alot of track use. AP Racing seems to be popular with motorsports enthusiasts, dunno about Rotora.

Why do you need brakes? What features are you looking for, are you racing?
The AP are the 'best' on the list.

I happen to sell a few of these, the more popular one is definately the Stoptechs as people seem to choose them due to the fact they offer a 4 wheel kit where Brembos only offer a front wheel only. As for the quaility in my opinion both are the same imo, but Brembo is OE and has been OE for many years on Porsche,Jags, Ferrari and the like, giving them the experience over Stoptech, but the Stoptech stop, and I mean stop regardless of whose who or on what make. So here's what I would do.... If the vehicle has factory Brembos then go with the front Brembo kit and keep stock rear brembos as 90% of your braking is in the front and a rear bbk looks great, but doesn't change the braking dynamics all that much. Non-Brembo car, I would go with all 4 wheels as the rear is week.

Since you didn't vote though, you are obviously not included in my previous statement.

BTW, unless you plan on a lot of track driving, you will be mainly buying the brake kit for looks. If you want some improved braking over stock, a good set of pads and tires will do what you need without wasting tons of money.

hey tech, was wondering why ap racing was the best one?

vince, i would really recommend going with ap racing or stoptech. ap racing i just heard was really good according to others, but i do want to see what tech has to say, and i've always believed in stoptechs to be good cuz i used to have them.

both ap and stoptech is great. but if your not tracking the car alot, some hawk blues with ss lines and motul 600 on the track days will work great.

We've mention this many times

Endless > AP Racing > StopTech > Rotora.

Brembo would be near the front if they offered a complete kit. I would look into StopTech if you are just looking for the look but have no need to track them.

You could also get some OEM Brembos and upgrade the pads, rotors and line.

Stoptechs all the way man!
I made my mind after reading some reviews and expertise that Stoptech guys are contributing to these forums.
Quality of the brakes is awasome. I have 13' kit myself, since I needed more wheel versatility (harsh winters here) and braking power is more than adequate.
If price is the issue, you may wish to consider 13' Stoptechs as well. Also, you may get a good deal on any used kit. Unless they were heavily abused the calipers do not deteriorate with age (and they are the most expensive part , while pads and/rotors are consumables anyway.
6 pot calipers are a waste - they only matter for endurance track use, otherwise they weight more and pads are more expensive. Most importantly - 6 pot do not give you any better braking force.

I have AP Racing brakes (6pot/4pot) and I love them. Yes, I got them for looks mostly, but they have saved me from a couple of fender benders and a near wipeout on the freeway. I can't speak for the others but I can definitely endorse AP after 3 years of use.....
