Default Lowering Question

I am interested in lowering my 350z a small amount in the front and more in the back.

Is it neccisary to buy new shocks or a camber kit righ away? Are there people having no tire wear problems with there springs?

Some springs may need camber kits while others you don't need. After owning and doing suspension mods to many cars, anytime you change a spring to make it lower, it will wear out the stock shocks quicker than if you were to keep it stock. In some cases, the wear is minimal while other times it is drastic. As for camber kits, it all depends on the drop and what your alignment specs were before you installed the new springs. If you want a small drop, I'd go with cutting the springmount. If you want a little more, go with the tanabe gf210 or the eibach's. I plan on going with the tanabe or the eibach's once my warranty is up.

Will cutting the spring mount cause suspension noise?

I kind of wanted to get away cheap without changing out shocks/struts. I have no problem buying and installing the springs; just concerned the the shocks would get alot of work and the alignment would be off without chamber kit. Wondering what most people are doing.....Maybe its worth the extra buck and go for coil overs?

The answer get's you into the complicated word of, at what point will not being in oem alignment specs will I have excess tire wear? At the .8" and beyond drop point most Z's start to not be within oem alignment specs. So what's your idea of a "small amount in the front and more in the back'? How much drop do you want to be happy?

Will you need new shocks, most often no. BUT, is your car a 03 or 04, if yes I would recommend different shocks.
