Default Dropping past 1" what do I need to do?

I have heard that the cambers need adjustment or replacement and that costs extra money. I just want to buy the springs and install those and nothing else.

What if I don't go through with that step and install the springs anyway?

If I have to, what other parts will I need with the springs?

I have an 07' model, will the aftermarket parts for older years still fit?

Probably going to be getting H&R sport for 1.0" R and 1.3" F.

i'm no suspension expert (I'd suggest gsedan35, he's the man), but from what I have gathered if you drop that much you're gonna have camber issues. Depending on how bad your camber is your tires will wear prematurely (expensive), so its worth it to invest in arms and get the camber as close to factory spec as possible. depends on how you like to drive too i guess, some of the guys who like to attack turns like the neg. camber but for a daily driven warrior I'd suggest you either not drop it as much or just get camber checked and fix it if needed.

Trust me you dont want to waste your money on springs if your going to lower your car that much. Invest in some coilovers, you will end up doing it in the long run anyways. Suspension is one of the most important aspects of moding the car or at least it should be. If you lower more than 1inch on springs you will end up haing to get shocks and new struts when the existing ones give way from the extra stress youll be putting on it. Your stock shocks are not made to dampen with the higher spring rates, so basically they dont work togeather like they were built too. I dont get why poeple are cool on spending 1.5k on exhaust to gain a couple hp but not will to spend some $$ on coilovers/suspension ??? Dont get me wrong I made the mistake of doing springs first as have many others, but learn from our mistakes and dont do the same. Theres many great suspension threads out there...

Hope you don't mind that I redid your post a bit.

1. Then do just that. With the springs you want, you won't be within oem alignment specs, getting back to within those specs is the reason for the added parts. If your not concerned about being out of spec or the tire wear issues you may have, then do exactly as you wish, though you really should have the car aligned after the install to set the front toe and rear camber/toe. I will say that to many owner's with the same drop amount, to them the cost to correct isn't justified because the car wasn't that far out of spec and some of those owners do install the SPC rear kit, because of it's low cost compaired to front arms.

2. Based on your desire to not have alignment fixing parts costs, no.

3. Yes

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I'd better do it the right way, I don't want to have to replace my tires too often. I don't think I can afford coilovers right now, and if I have to get the alignment parts along with those then forget it.

What other parts should I get along with my springs to do this the right way?

Can anyone recommend the most bang for buck parts in this area?

Dood you said it yourself, you want to do it the right way. Be patient and save up a little more for some stance coilovers and an alignment. You wont be sorry.

To anser your question.. If your determined on getting springs then go ahead and choose the set that you want and get spc rear camber kit as well and youll be set. Do not skip the alignment though, its a must ! There is also parts avaliable to correct your toe etc if you really want to get into correcting your stance. Keep in mind the lower you go, the harder it is to get your suspension back into spec... with the right parts its possible.

If I get coilovers, will I still have to get a camber kit?

I think this is great advice. But as you stated, I will have to learn from my mistakes. I've never modded a car as much as I have with the Z. But years down the line when I start on my next project, I'll know.
