HELP, caliper
I was installing new rotors on the front and I had both calipers out, I finished the right side first, got in the car and started pumping the brakes, not realizing that the front left caliper was out and hanging. It was hanging from the piston on what looked like the control arm.... the piston came out in a uneven way, leaking some brake fluid. I pushed the piston back in with a c-clamp and started pumping the brakes again, after puting everything back toghether, it looked like it was slowly leaking, but the brakes were HARD. I refilled the reservoir a little above the MAX line and drove to my home building (not even 2 miles). When I got there I got out and came back about half an hour later, pumped the brakes and it wasnt leaking anymore. I drove to krangen's and autozone to see if they had a caliper or a rebuild kit, didnt have either. At first I thought that a seal inside the caliper had busted and thats why it was leaking but now I believe that after I pushed the piston back in, there was some brake fluid in the outer seal (what looks like a boot)....
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
buy a new caliper, or keep it and bleed the lines?
AND, how much do you think a new caliper is at the dealer?
