Does anyone know how the stiffer 12k/10k springs compare with the standard 10k/8k springs? I want to get these coilovers, but I do not know which spring rates to get.

I'd like to know more too, but why are lowering springs given ratings like 450/540 and the springs on the coilovers say 8k/10?

I know these are not 20x stiffer than lowering springs. or are they?

I kinda figured that much. Sure, the 450/520 numbers I see are lb/inch.

Not sure what the unit of measure is for the 8k/10k numbers

EDIT - I figured it out after some web searching. It's kg/mm - metric spring rate. To convert lb/in to kg/mm you multiply by 0.0179 and to convert kg/mm to lb/in you divide by 0.0179. So 8k/10k equals ~446/559 lb-in

These are much stiffer... mostly used on competition only cars.. if your Z is your daily, you might want to look at the softer rate springs.

you should delete this, as it's not even the description for the Z

Z coilovers don't have adjustable camber plates

6 inch drop on a Z would put it underground

standard spring rates are 10/8 on a Z

Hopefully you'll post a review and opinion on these. I heard the ER series are supposedly coming out in 2 weeks, wonder how much those will be?

Installed the BC Suspension kit two nights ago went very well, was wondering if there is a Alignment Spec?

Also quik suggestion make sure you run the extenders before you install the rear struts.

Thanks

I would also be interested in knowing which coilover would be better suited for my purpose the pss10 or bc racing ER series.

I'm really into tracking and the Z, but most of the driving is done on the streets. So what I'm looking for is a compromise obviously. The BC racing is about 400$ cheaper here, but I don't care too much about the price difference. I just want the better coilover. I know there is no definitive answer, but any info that would help my decision making would be appreciated.

I'm about to be ordering a set of ER's for my Z. I called Pete at BC and talked with him about what i want to do with the car, and after about 30 min of talking, I decided that this was the way to go. The price savings is pretty nice in the end, more money for tires...lol

They have been running two seasons of Time Attack on them, as well as Braille Battery's has them on there Drift cars and Time Attack cars.

After a lot of research this is the way to go for me.

Hope your journey is over soon too.
BC Racing number is 407-637-2941

From my experience with my G35 Coupe, with the BC coilovers you can nearly set it on the ground in the front....and go PLENTLY low in the rear. (I do not have ears to hear the objective stance on the definition of "plenty" so please do not post it). Do not worry about the amount you can lower your Z/G worry about ride quality, cost, durability, ect.

Exactly whats going through my mind. I am really considering ordering these tomorrow, sounds like everyone loves them! Does anyone have anything bad enough to say about them that I should re-consider?
