Thumbs up Last decision ( Hotchkis or GF210 )

hey guys!

i have 04, and it's time to drop!!

i've search for while, and i got two springs in my mind is,
Hotchkis and tanabe GF210

i still can't decide which spring should i go with,

who has hotchkis, seem like need more drop on rear,
but good thing that they get back to spec easy with stock camber & toe

who has tanabe GF210
perfect drop, but seem like lot of people use this spring
from Cali, Florida, which has nice road condition,

still

hotchkis will be too less drop?
tanabe will be too drop for daily driving?

what you guys think? help my dicision!!

and if anyone has picture of before and After then,
it will help me alot. ( i found out only couple of pictures for each spring)

Thanks guys!

Don't know about those, but have heard eibach gives the perfect drop. Sorry I can't help.

try looking in the suspension thread. there is plenty of information to be found with a simple search of that forum

I have been researching lowering springs since I got my Z in April '04. Hotchkis is what I will go with (when I get new tires so I can get an alignment after installing them all at once). I can't justify another 1/4" drop with the pro-kit or GF210s which would run me the risk of having to get a camber kit at least in the rear. Negative camber obviously great for handling, but crappy for tire wear (to an extent, of course). It's all about preference. I saw a hotchkis lowered Z next to an eibach Z, and i actually thought the lesser drop looked better. It could have been a combination of things that caused me to like it better...the vehicle had nicer wheels. Take a look at the silver one...

another:

good luck choosing! I think looking at these two pics just caused me spend some money on springs early! haha

The silver one isn't on hotchkis.
I have hotchkis and it is fine for me, it only got rid of the wheel gap but it probably won't satisfy you if you want your car to be on the floor.

hotchkis because the springs are linear and will offer better performance. the tanabes are progressive, and the springrates aren't that great, but you get more drop

Actually, it is on hotchkis. I have spoken with the guy on multiple occasions and he wouldn't lie.

The custom stereo setup he has in the rear and APS TT up front gave him the lower drop. Probably shouldn't have posted that pic cuz it looks lower, but it's good reference for those who mod their Zs, thus adding weight.

+1 to the rest of your post for the majority of us.

I went with Hotchkis because I read that you can align back to spec... but there was a catch. Only some Z's can be aligned back to spec. I went to WCN to get my alignment after the springs were installed and the adjustment was VERY minimal. If you look at how the Z's suspension is built you will see that there's basically no room for adjustment.

So it comes down to which drop you like better. Personally, I'm thinking of switching up to the 210's because I feel like the Hotchkis drop isn't aggressive enough. But then I also like not scratching on every single thing on the road. It's a tough decision...

go for tanabe's..you'll regret not dropping lower I think if you go with hotckis. I've seen some threads with hotckis and they hardly look lowered.

^^LA has some of the worst potholes and uneven pavement. I rarely go through mid-city because of that reason. Good luck with the decision. I have the NF210 and im happy with them.

yea, i saw your tread before. that's why~~ it makes me hard decision.
your drop is PERFECT! but I don't want scrap under the car, ...

that's what im worry about,
i had 04 RSX type-s before dropped with H&R springs. i didn't have any problem with scrap under the car, but this is 350z...different height...hard to decision..hUmmm

thankz by the way love your rims!

how much did u spend all total?

im thinking to spend around $400 just a parts

so

Hotchkis TVS running around that,

Tanabe GF210 & SPC Rear Camber/toe running around that price...

Honestly, if you have doubts on Hotchkis, go for Tanabe with rear camber kits because the Hotchkis springs don't really lower your car that much.
