Default Please help--Brembo Brakes cost to replace

I would really appreciate an answer so I'll know if I can afford GT Roadster. My concern is that the car is an amazing bargain---but it has brembo brakes which I hear are expensive to replace. How much money to replace---and how often do you need to replace. I'm a woman---cautious driver, will not be using for track just daily driver. Thank you so much for helping!

the gold calipers itself would last probably 10+ years or more if you just daily drive.

Default brakes

yeah---I am worried about the brakes cause I'm a teacher and if the brakes need replacing and it's $2000 then it's going to be a very bad month on top of the car payment. I've found a great price but I never considered GT cause I don't need VDC and brembo, but if I can get GT for Touring price then why not?. just a general quote on brake pads if anyone has had them replaced recently.

I bought some nice axxis ultimate brake pads all around for 120 dollars. which is pretty cheap for 4 wheels. Nice replacement STOPTECH rotors are only 50 bucks a piece. GET the GT.

Back to the original question: the Brembo brakes will likely cost you less in the long run. Why? The swept area of the pads are bigger (spreading out wear) and the calipers, which never need replacing in normal use, can absorb far more heat (which degrades pads and rotors) when used hard. If you are planning on using the Z as a daily driver, replacing the pads and rotors should not be much more than if you bought a Z with the "normal" OEM brakes.

Downsides? If you take it back to the dealer, they will charge you a LOT more to replace pads and rotors. The Brembos are a monoblock design and usually have a high-pitched 'squeal' under light brake pressure.

So don't let the cost scare you off. Those Brembos are a great performance feature and value of the Z. I own a pre-order '03 track model and the Brembos have been worth every penny I spent on them five years ago!

Good you are think about mainteance + car payment same with gas prices, insurance..........the TRUE COST TO OWN and DRIVE.

Tires, brakes, belts, wear and tear items can easily equal the gasoline cost per mile especially as miles build up.

If you go to Nissan for service, you will pay a pretty penny.
I will go for Brembo's everytime. an all Zs.
My roadster has Brembos transferred from my 96k mile track.
The pads I am testing are ceramic and works great with little dust,WAAAY TOO CHEAP TO MENTION
I picked up a spare set of oem rotors for cheap too from a new car converted to race.
Since I did the work for myself, dealer quote, 1200.00 and my cost 70.00.
PS I am not a mechanic and am 58 years young..

Such as???

If you track your car you will WANT blank rotors, unless you like cracked ones.

Slotted rotors won't crack. But - Cheap cross-drilled ones do have a tendency to crack...
