Default Brake,tcs,abs,slip light is on

After installing my Avic Z1 HU, my ABS, BRAKE, TCS OFF, SLIP light is on now. i when back and check every wire and unistall and reinstall it like 6 time already. lights only come on when i start moveing. light will turn off when i turn the car off and restart it again, but one i start rolling it will pop up again. i have a 2003 350z Enthusiast model 6mt. please help. this really bug me. i also spent about a week now searching the forum and try every advice out there. i believe it could be my speed sensor, or the abs sensor. is there any way to check if those sensor are bad,,,? thanks

The white box below the HU is the control module for TCS. My guess is that it's not plugged in. While you might have the connector plugged in, if a pin is bent or not making contact, that could be your problem.

One other thing - did you disconnect the battery when doing the install? I know that unplugging that module with the battery connected can also throw a CEL. Don't know if it will cause the other lights to come on just by unplugging it with power on.

It could be a wheel speed sensor but it's failure would be unrelated to the install of the HU. Those sensors are behind the brakes on each axle.

The more likely cause would be a connect not being reconnected. I assume you don't notice anything else in the dash/console area not working, right? Gauge pod works okay, A/C controls, all dash lights, etc?

I'm not aware of any way to test it - you'd have to have a dealer hook it up to their ConsultII system.

not quite. that white box definitely controls the hud functions. You can crank the car but youll notice the tach and all the other gauges will be dead. Figured this out last weekend while helping Chaser720 install his nitrous kit.

I had just finished tapping the ecu pins and decided to verify the window switch's functions. Noticed all the lights were on and no tach movement. I was freaking out. Chase suggested plugging in the white box and restart. Sure enough, the tach worked and so did the rest of the gauges. He also got a unknown ses light.

So moral of the story, that white box is important for ac and the hud. Leave it unplugged and youll have issues.
