Default Stoptech bleeding valve

I bought used Stoptech 14'' bront brake.

All the installation went pretty smooth, and was about to bleed brake oil.

The valve(nut with rubber cap on it) for bleeding was broken and the piece

was stuck in the hole.

Somehow, I got the piece out of the hole, but now valve wont fit~

Can I make bigger threaded hole and plug in bigger valve?

what should I do?

Do you have the proper bleeded valve , if so check with stoptech and get the proper thread size and run a tap thru the hole.

Im not following you 100% ----The bleeder has a tapered tip that seals when tightened. When loosened the seal is broken and fluid is allowed to enter a port that enables it to drip and expell air.

If it was broken and you were able to extract the piece (with the taper) GREAT !!! BUT the bleed screw is ruined and has to be replaced with a new one of the proper size. Bleed screws, as a rule are standardized, so its a question of going to where ever you can go in Korea and buy a new one. If thats not possible, you will have to get one from Stoptech. DONT try to modify it !!!! DONT try to Heli-coil it !!!! It may not leak BUT it WILL suck air.

If Stop-Tech uses a different design then that may be a different story

BTW----I never offer advice unless I have been there and done that. I ripped my hair out on a Vette once that I spent 3 days on before I isolated each caliper and found it repaired with a Heli-Coil.

I swear by Heli-Coils----But NOT for repairing bleed screws

Thanks your reply Fazzzzzzy and eod.
Both screw thread and threaded hole in caliper is ruined.
Diameter of thread is 10mm, and each thread has distance of 1mm. Overall lenth is 30mm, and portion that goes inside of the hole is about 17mm.
I was thinking of making new thread on the caliper with 1.5mm and diameter of 10mm.

Do you guys know where I could buy the bleed screw with 1.5mm thead and 10mm diamter? (length wouldn't be a problem as long as it's longer than 17 mm)
I searched shop on internet, but couldn't find one.
Any link would be great~
Thanks~

There may be a stop tech rep on the forum. Stop Tech is, I think made in the US, so it will have SAE thread. If not, it will be Metric (Just a educated guess)

Either way, you will have to find a bleeder the next size up, determine thread pitch and tap accordingly.

BUT ???? Is the taper on the new bleeder of the same angle and cut ??? If not, then it wont work. And also....Because of the internal taper, Can you get the tap down to the bottom to get a clean thread before it "bottoms" out ?

Im not trying to make a simply job difficult......Im just saying THIS is not a simple job, there are variables.

You really need to throw this at StopTech and hopefully they wont tell you that you need a new Caliper.

Im saying this as a man who can fix anything, but you have a little prob here if Im reading this right

Addendum: Id be temped to cut the Nuts off the Monkey that messed it up in the first place. Thats just blatant carelessness

I was the one who sold this kit to Orthodoc and the bleeder screws were working perfectly fine when I took them off the car.

They could have had some scratches on them but they worked fine. They were bled at a Nissan dealer actually, I won't give out any names of any dealers but I have the receipts to prove it.

If for some reason they were damaged ie during shipping or what not, you can purchase them from stop tech directly, they are on our forum username is J Ritt, his name is Jeff Ritter. He's a awesome guy.

Again, I sold a top notch kit that had the lowest miles possible and there was 0 damage on this kit. The bleeding was done at a Nissan dealer so any type of damage is a little hard to swallow.

A picture of the damage would be nice to see as well.

Hope everything works out, I would have appreciated a PM from you though I could have helped you out.
