Question Why the bevel on the OEM Brembo brake pads?

Both the front and rear pads were beveled. so you don't use the full pad until the last week of it's life? Why would they do that?

I was wondering the same thing... Now my track pads didn't wear like that, but then again, I've only had one track weekend on them, while my OEM pads have 2 track weekends and over 10K miles on them.

Its an anti-squeal measure, same on an Evo 5 I had.I think all Brembos are like it.
