Default Realistic Shop Installation Quote...

As the title reads, I am bringing in my Hotchkis TVS (Springs and Sways) to the local shop for install. I am wondering what the fellow members have paid in the past and what a realistic quote would be? Its an 07 and I was quoted
~500-600 good/bad?

Thanks in advance

I would say bad, but I would also say do it yourself.

I dont have the tools to do it, so doing it myself rules that out

Find some peeps locally to help you out. Buy some brews and food, you'll be set.

Doing it yourself requires a wrench and a local auto zone for spring compressors...

its really not to bad at all i dont think i remember even needing a spring compressor for the back but the front it is necessary. besides that, just a floor jack some stands, a good socket set and open end wrenches should do the job. save the money for a good alignment afterwards.

500-600 will buy you more than enough tools to get the job done, and you will have tools for your next mod

500-600 sounds reasonable if it includes the parts.

If you need to pay someone to do the job, I think 3 hours labor would be max that I would consider reasonable.

I am not sure about hourly rates in your area, but here it is $70 - $80/hr. So, in my case, I don't think anything over $320 is reasonable.

Sways take more time than springs? Are you kidding me? Sways are easy as it gets. I'll install the both sways before anyone could install one spring. Probably the most simple mod on the Z.

I had to drop one side of my Greddy exhaust to install. No problem. Just took about an extra 5 min. Is that what your referring to, or rubbing issues?

I had Stillen sways, Tanabe Sustec Pro Type I coilovers and Prothane bushings everywhere possible, plus GT-Spec front and rear braces installed for under $250. That is about 3 hrs shop time @ $80/hr. Later, I switched to nismo end links and did it myself. My advice is do as much as possible yourself and save the $ for a truly professional alignment.
