Default Im kinda lost...

Well i was gonna get my tanabe nf210 springs installed today, but while reading these fourms some people who also used the same springs needed to purchase camber kits? I have no idea what parts i need or if it is even necessary to get a camber kit. If i do need a camber kit, which ones have you experimented with and recommend? I wanna try and get my car lowered soon so your input would be great.

I can never remember how much of a drop the tanabe are? So I can't tell you if you'll need both front and rear. But most companies make both and many venders here sell them all. I have the SPC at all four corner. There great. But I really love the SPL, race version (front adj. camber). You search and there's some pics here posted resently. Those are the first two I'd buy.

The rear kits come with rear adjustable camber arms and adj. toe bolts. Those are around $150 shipped. That's all you'll need in the rear. The front are adj. camber and caster. There about around $380+.

it doesnt make a difference if you decide to get camber kits for a setup like yours...tanabe nf210 would only drop your car 1.2" front and rear...

+1 - I had the Hotchkis kit recently installed and they "claim" that no camber kit is needed. My springs drop <1inch all around and I need a front camber kit now So if you are going with tanabe which is even more drastic in drop hight you will more than likely definately need both front and rear kits. You will not know until they place the car on the lift and check the alignment. People think a simple drop on a Z is cheap. Yeah, its cheap if you just slap springs on there, but I want the max life out of my tires and want things done right. Its cheaper to buy a camber kit than 4 news tires! Oh yeah install is going to run some money if you havent factored that in, unless your going to do it yourself.

I am looking at Megan Racing for a front kit ~$350 + install.

tanabe drops your car more than the recomended drop so it puts your camber out of spec of oem. you can correct this with adjustable camber arms. you do not need them, but you will go trough tires quicker and have uneaven wear.

You may be able to get by on the front, but the rears will need a camber kit. Check the Marketplace vendors under suspension to find a supplier. You should be able to get a rear kit for around 200 shipped.

reminder not all front camber kits correct camber, instead some increase more camber for race purposes

-1 to -5 depends on the car and settings, you want some negative camber for better traction, but for straight line wears out the tire faster

moore camberz iz teh good foor deh harndeling!

Don't know much about camber kits, but I'm dropped on Espelir Active GT springs (drop is slightly less than Hotchkis if I remember correctly) with no alignment post install...

With my rear tires gone after ~9k miles (multiple autocrosses, Azenis RT615), the outer tread has about 3-4/32nds, and then tapers to bald after about 3 inches (255 tire width) from the outermost tread. The front tires still have usable tread across their entire width, but also have some minor noticeable camber wear (wouldn't want to give you a ballpark as I haven't inspected the front in a while - had the rears off last weekend though).

I personally wouldn't consider this excessive (the wear is more a function of the soft compound I would imagine), but that all depends on the size of your wallet and how much cornering you're willing to sacrifice.

Here's a link to why I think the SPL are better. It's just obvious. I didn't say I had them. But sometimes I worry about the ball joint adjustment on the spc kit. I haven't had problem yet, but the SPL race version seems to be a little better.

well fromt he factory your car has negative camber. itll get more aggressive as you drop it. a little negative cambers not that big of a deal, it may wear your inner tire out more, but its benefits on a roadcourse outweigh a straight lined tire. i would be worried about excessive toe in, which will cause feathering and eat your tire, also increaing the noise your tires will make.
