Help me decide BRAKE pads: hawk, panther, axxis???
i need to get new brake pads by the end of the month. looking for a nice street/track combo.
i was looking at Hawk HPS all around for my track brembos, but the Panther line seems to have received some positive reviews too. I've heard of Axxis before too, but mostly on other cars. help me out. tia.

I've got HPS, they grip great, no fade after an entire hour (plus numerous 30 minute runs) at road atlanta, and much less dust than stock. www.splparts.com for a great deal and the best customer service!
Go with the Carbotechs in the pad that suits you best. Trust me, Hawk HPS pads are not suitable for track use. How do I know, I've burnt a whole set in under an hour at a race track in a very lightweight Honda Civic hatchback. I can't even imagine what a 3100lb Z would do to a set.
HPS pads are great for street driving only though

Just back from the track (Sebring) this past weekend and the Carbotech Panther + pads held up ok (Front and rear) but they are all but gone after two days with many sessions. I think it's about all I could expect really after 220 miles if hard use. The Panther + are "good" for track use but maybe not the best. I think I should have used Panther XP for the weekend. It was a very warm day. Mixing XP and P+ may not be the best thing to do either. Some other 350 owners have early wear failure.
"Westpak" was also at Sebring and used XP/P+ combo and had to change all pad mid day Sunday. I Hope he chimes in here to add thougts.
I didn't hit the brakes as hard as I could, knowing I wanted to also save the rotors. They are only mildly grooved.
It really depends on how hard and long you are going to play at the track. If it's two hard days, buy high end pads and expect them only to last the weekend. If you want a combo at 9/10 like I did, P+ will work ok. Also I highly recommend SS Brake lines and high temp fluid. I had no brake fade at all this weekend. Also bring a spare set to get home with.
I use Bobcats for daily use with good success. Lower brake dust than stock.
For the next track days I may try Hawk HT9, Ferodo, or Porterfields
Here's a great list, check under Brake Pads: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=17169

I put about 330 miles on my Z at Texas World Speedway a few weeks ago. I used Carbotech XP in the front Brembos and Carbotech Panther in the rear Brembos.
No unusual wear and never had any issues with fading. And, that is with track temps near 105 degrees F.
I'm actually still running with the XPs in the front.... too lazy to change them out (to the Bobcats I just received from Matt at Carbotech). Still work good on the street, but noisy and very dusty.
Hope that helps.
