pad knockback
Pad Knock Back on the 350Z/G35 platform is not inherent in the BBK itself but in the OEM hubs. The stock hubs can flex when cornering hard which causes the pads to push the pistons back in on fixed calipers. The bigger the rotor of the BBK the more amplified the problem will be.
Thanks.
I found a lot of info on Stoptechs website about it too. Pretty much what you said too.
So I'm guessing there is no actual knocking noise from knockback quirk itself, just that with hard cornering when you go to apply the brakes afterwards, it might take a bit more pedal travel to make the pads contact the rotors, due to the minor flexing that pushed the pistons back a tad.
Scared me, they should call it push back not knockback, lol

I'm actually considering doing the knockback springs. I did an auto-x school the past weekend in Monterey and the knockback reared it's ugly head again. It's pretty annoying but I'm pretty used to doing the double pump by now.
