Default Brake fluid shelf life

Just wondering if someone know what the shelf life of a sealed bottle of brake fluid usually is?

Thanks

As long as the bottle is sealed- no air or moisture getting in- a DOT 3/4 silicone based brake fluid should last in storage for many years. Maybe you should mention what brand and type you're considering using. Also, if it's real old, it may not be compatible with your Z.

It's dot 5.1 ferodo brake fluid. It's not silicone based. Only Dot 5 are normally silicone based.

If the cap is tight, it will last a long time----The alcohol based fluids 3-4 do what alcohol does---attract moisture. Keep it tight
