blead brakes.... soft pedal
Hey i just Flushed, filled, and blead my brakes yesterday and my pedal is super soft. I checked the fluid, reblead the breaks in the proper order twice and no effect.. the pedal is soft but will still stop the car, but does not feel like it should.. ANy ideas why?
yea i pumped the brakes. but as soon as i start the car the pedal gets flat again. tryed it with the car on...same thing..the soft pedal is one thing but my main concern is my brakes over heating very fast under agressive driving.
i really eff'ed up my stock brakes on the track, rear pads were gone and metal clamped the disc. so i got new drilled/slotted rotors, new pads. after the new brakes they over heat very quickly.... i have hawks regular hp pads. im starting to think they might me the reason for the fast overheating but can the rotors be causing it too?

You still have air in the lines somewhere. You didn't mention HOW you bled the brakes- did you use a power bleeder or at least a plastic line and bottle to see what's being pumped out? Also, what kind of brake fluid are you using? Without being meticulous, you'll need to repeat the procedure and make sure you get all the air out. Driving around with spongy brakes is dangerous and no fun...
i know, its my second time on them... any way i had a hand pump but i couldnt get the clear tube to have solid fluid going through so i did the regular way with my friend on the brakes with a vynal tube and bottle and i pressed the pedal. After he manned the bottle I went outside and reblead the whole system while he was on the brakes and it showed no air comming through the line.
but any idea why they over heat so fast? i did about 5 mins of hardcore Pennsylvania twisties to my house, almost over shot the entrance to my house b/c of the fade, pulled in and smoke was pouring from my wheel weels.
Im tring to get ready for the track, if it cant handle 5mins on the street, how can it handle 4, 25min runs on pocono raceway.....

The new brakes require a brake in period! Proper way to brake pads in-Drive about 35-45 mph make a quick stop with about 50% stopping power but only slow down to about 10 mph-Then drive for one up to two minutes to allow the brakes to cool down. Do this 20 t0 25 times in a row. When you do this you are actually seating the brake pads into the rotor. If you dont do this the brake pads will glaze the rotors and the will not work properly.

yea i did all that already the breaks now have about 5000 miles on them. but during the break in i was super easy on them, but this time when i was doing the twisties was the first real time i was using them HARD
