Enekei RPF1 Wheels DO NOT CLEAR FRONT BREMBOS!!
As some of you knew, I ordered wheels for my race tires. I went with the Enkei RPF1's over the RP02J's because I wanted a 9.5" rim in the back. After seeing a post at 350ZFrenzy where someone was selling these wheels and saying they DID clear the track model Brembos (no doubtedly some type of scam) I ordered from Discount Tire.
They cam today and I test fitted them and sure enough, the Brembos hit in the front!! Damn!! The rears were just fine. I called DTD and they were great. They issued me a lable so I could have UPS pick up and are sending out the RP02J's for the fronts. LOL, I know it may look kinda funky, but I don't care, they are just for track days only.
Just letting anyone else know if you were considering this option.

I'd guess they wouldn't clear my 13.1 in Stoptechs......Da#n!
Might a different offset work?
Any pics of what rubs?

I want to thank 2003Z for offering me a set of 2mm spacers. Unfortunately it looks like it would actually need about 4mm or maybe more. Honestly, I would rather not mess with spacers at all.
On to my next project; Sparco Evo3 race seat.
So its not really the offset that is the problem but the pad length from the spokes to the hub. Thinking about it, that would mean the less 'dish' to the wheel, the better. On my enkeis, the outside part of the spokes is about flush with the outer rim, and the pad extends about 3 inches back from the outside part, about an inch and a half from the back of the spokes.
First I need to apologize to xtoz from 350zfrenzy. I don't think he was trying to pull a scam. I think the problem was in my assumption that Enkei's U.S. website showed all available offsets. I looked at Enkei Japan's Website and I see there is also a 22mm offset version that is not shown on the U.S. website.
I think the reason why they fit the car is that Enkei gets the increased offset by increasing the backspacing (like having a built in space) and not changing where the spokes mount to the wheel. XTOZ told me he had 8mm or so of clearance so this has to be the case.

Let me know how that seat install goes...mine was a beeeeeyutch to get in there! Mine is on sliders, which complicated the issue...yours will probably be a bit easier if it will be stationary.

I have learned more about wheels in the past two days than I ever wanted to know. I finally tracked down the shop where the guy on 350zfrenzy bought his RPF1's. The name of the shop is BIGBEAR TIRE and I talked to Marty. Even though he knew I wasn't buying anything, he was very helpful.
He looked up the invoice of the customer and here is what he found. The RPF1 that fits the Z in the front is the 17x8.5x40mm. He told me that the 17x9x35mm is actually a rear wheel fitment and is designed with less brake clearance. The poster on 350zfrenzy just thought he had 9" wheels and not 8.5", a simple mistake. Marty assured me that he personally fit these wheels on the car himself and I have seen pictures of the wheels on the car.

Call Discount Tire Direct @ 1-888-459-4080. They have a tech line they can call with Enkei. They assured me that these were indeed, the right fitment after calling Enkei. That is why the 17x8.5's weigh more than the 17x9's.

So I wonder if the RPO-2J's have more of wheel clearance than the RPF1's. Anyone know? Enkei doesn't.

If this is the same stoptech kit that fits on the stock 17s, I'll wager they will fit.

I did, Discount tire said that Enkei said there was a 50% chance the Stoptechs would fit. Damn, now I've got $2K riding on 50% chance.
I say they barely fit.
Anyone else wanna guess?

I have always dealt with Tire Rack in the past, but I would have to say that DTD is gonna be my company as long as they maintain this typ of customer service. So even if you are on the wrong end of you 50/50 gamble, at least they will minimize the pain.
Just a quick follow up note. I got my new front RPF1's today sized 17x8.5x40mm. I just finished test fitting them and they fit over the front Brembos with room to spare. It may seem counterintuitive that going to the 40mm would actually add more clearance, but this is a specific front wheel fitment. It actually clears with about 1/4" to spare. You can actually see how much more the spokes come out. They are pretty much flush with the outside edge of the wheel.
